All the dub-loving plebs in stream didn't hear him say 「おまえはもう死んでる」.

Ik had deze avond het geluk dat ik de Europese première van de 2025 restoratie van deze film kon zien, en God wat heb ik genoten. Dat betekent niet per se dat het een goede film is. Qua verhaal is het 72 manga chapters in een film van 2 uur. Dat zou genoeg manga zijn om een heel seizoen mee te vullen, dus dan kun je na gaan hoe snel en chaotisch deze film was. Er werd niks uitgelegd, maar dat hoefde ook niet. Het was een over de top masculine vecht festijn. Alle karakters hadden spieren van hier tot Tokyo en stemmen dieper dan mijn ziel (behalve als ze aan het meppen waren, dan klonken ze als boze minions). Het acteerwerk was net zo over de top, en met de oude iets wat statische beelden, maakte dat voor een hilarisch verhaal.
Al met al heeft dit waarschijnlijk voor mijn leukste bioscoop ervaring ooit gezorgd.

While it didn’t invent a lot of the tropes, it wears them on their sleeve. The overpowered main character removes most of the stakes, the emotion is sidelined for cool action and the film has a uniquely strange quality to it. And yet, despite these things, it’s kinda awesome at points. Do I wish there was more substance?? Yes. But does it kick ass?? Also yes.It’s goofy and fun, yet lacks any kind of depth other than “cool punching”.67/100
