I have always known that cinema, filmmaking is best utilised in showing the intricacies of human connection, the relationships we build with the people we interact with, the collision of souls with their own universes and stories causing the formation of something new.
Like I said at the start, I knew this but I never actually understood it. I never truly comprehended what this really means.
Until recently, I don’t really know what clicked but my eyes finally widened to have some grasp of the beauty of that concept of film and storytelling.
Now on to “joy luck club”, I have had this movie downloaded on my hard drive since march and every 2 weeks or so I tell myself “I’ll watch it today” and either something comes up or I am too lazy to watch it.
UNTIL today I got the urge to watch it and I don’t think I could’ve picked a better time to watch this. This found me at the perfect time.
This is the near perfect embodiment of what I talked about in the paragraph above (so much yap, ouch) . The depth of human connection it shows is genuinely fascinating.
This is pretty much just a collage of multiple masterpiece short films stitched together by an even more powerful beautiful over-arching story.
