George Stroud, a crime magazine's crusading editor, has to postpone a vacation with his wife - again - when a glamorous blonde is murdered and he is assigned by his publishing boss to find the killer. As the investigation proceeds to its conclusion, Stroud must try to disrupt his ordinarily brilliant investigative team as they increasingly build evidence that he is the killer.

This man gets literally fired from his job to enjoy the honeymoon with his wife, instead of he going home in the first minute, he decides to drink with another girl, this is the only thing that didn’t makes sense to me, he didn’t go to vacation since he misses the train and get in a bad really trouble 
Elsa Lanchester should had more appearance time, she steals the scene

Really nice noir accidental framing film. Some of the shots are really good especially the long takes Milland delivers a good performance and the pacing and story is really good although predictable. Milland has to play cat and mouse to avoid being caught and jailed and it sets up some really fun moments like the final 15 minutes.
