This movie is straight up just a modern art masterpiece. The cinematics and CGI of this movie are just so on point, someone sold their soul to make this movie. It’s simply beautiful. The soundtrack and sound effects are also perfectly done. The characters are well fleshed out and I cared about what happens to them. The antagonist is by far one of the best modern villains there is out there. There’s really just not a lot wrong with this movie at all. Everything through and through was executed to perfection, even the military lingo which most movies fuck up, they didn’t, it was like the characters had actually been service members. Love this movie, love this movie, love this movie.

Wow! Beautiful film. What makes this one so great is not only the story, but the worldbuilding is some of the best there is. The attention to detail and speculative biology is truly a work a art. Masterpiece!

I was only 4 years old when this film released, but I still remember how culturally significant it was. A massive feat in CGI, and I remember when my dad bought a flat screen TV that supported 3D, Avatar was the film it highlighted on the box. I saw it at a young age and I’m glad I’m finally coming back to it, but I don’t know if it’s really worth the hype that it got. Avatar is no where near my favorite sci-fi franchises, heck, I don’t think it’s my favorite James Cameron sci-fi franchise. But Avatar isn’t a bad film. It’s absolutely stunning, and its action sequences are great. I just don’t love the film, which feels like a controversial thing to say about the highest grossing film of all time.

Also, I’m planning on starting to watch all of the Oscar nominees I’ve yet to see, starting with Avatar: Fire and Ash. I have my 2025 Ranked list pinned, if anyone seen an Oscar nominee that isn’t on that list and are immediate watches, I’d love to hear them!
