"The Sky People have sent us a message... that they can take whatever they want. That no one can stop them. Well, we will send them a message. You ride out as fast as the wind can carry you. You tell the other clans to come. Tell them Toruk Macto calls to them! You fly now, with me! My brothers! Sisters! And we will show the Sky People... that they cannot take whatever they want! And that this... this is our land!"
The world Cameron created here is simply fantastic. Avatar is hypnotically beautiful. With cinematography that makes you feel part of Pandora, vivid and memorable characters, thrilling music, and a beautiful and profound script, Avatar became one of the most important films in modern cinema and science fiction.
I understand that it might not be a film that everyone likes, either because it's too commercial or because it's not their style, but Avatar's influence on the industry is undeniable.
It's a very enjoyable film to watch. It's very entertaining. Some of the directorial choices didn't completely convince me, but they don't make it a bad film by any means.
Cameron uses many things here that we've already seen in his other films, like Aliens mainly.
Also, the film has a very important underlying message today, which may be camouflaged by the pace and how "commercial" the film is, but it is not difficult to realize that Avatar does not just tell an action story, but something much bigger and more serious.
