oh wow this made me sick to my stomach! found footage is one of my favourite horror subgenres, and i’m especially drawn to those that dare to delve into the female body as a site of horror. it is insane to me that menstruation, pregnancy and childbirth - things that are grotesque, intrusive and painful - are so often ignored within horror, despite being lived realities for women. delivery: the beast within leans into that discomfort directly, framing pregnancy as bodily violation and loss of control. obviously these are natural, normal experiences that shouldn’t be shamed, but the horror within them can be and should be examined!
