in the realm of kinda shit jason statham movies this one just doesn’t seem to understand which parts of that it wants to take. like are we dealing with him as an ex cop trying to live in a small town for protection and navigating how is pst effects his life here or are we going for people attempting to do a comeback hit on him.
i also don’t love how sometimes he’s invincible and the times totally useless. like it’s unbelievable to me that these idiots from down the local could get him but these guys who clearly do these hits all the time are unable to. you have to decide if he’s a clear cut above going into crazy circumstances or an underdog who scraps his way to the finish line.
also gator has such weird stances in this like he’s not all that comfortable with the bloke being killed but once it links back to him a touch he decides to go full rambo. like mate you’re best pals with the sherif im backing you could work something out there. just a bunch of boring characters with boring build up and frankly lame action pieces too.
