If I had a nickel for every time Robert Shaw plays a grumpy sea-fairing man in a 70s film featuring sharks I’d have 2 nickels. Which isn’t a lot. But it’s weird it happened twice.

The Deep? Uhh, I'm not so sure, only looked about thirty feet down to me. But I regress, talk about some crazy fucking practical effects! The amount of shit they were able to film underwater succesfully is highly impressive to me. You can tell this is adapted from another book by Peter Benchley, who wrote Jaws. Treece is exactly like Quint (apart from their actors being the same), and I'd like to think they are the same person.

Made simply because jaws was a success. Also, had a seen the opening scene in a more youthful time, it would have been a core memory
