The animation is shockingly really good. The visual effects when they're in real life look bad. I hate how the Chanticleer is on the poster, and the movie is somewhat named after him, but he was just not in it that much for the first half of the movie. The songs in this movie are good. I love the villain. I like how it's only 1 hour and 14 minutes. The climax was really good. the tranistion from animation to real life isnt good. I hate when they go into real life, I want to watch a movie about a cool rooster who makes songs, not a little boy on a farm.

This was in heavy rotation for me back in the childhood days, and then just haven’t watched it for at least a few decades. Figured it would be a good watch especially with the kid who enjoys movies with musical numbers.

She got into the numbers a bit, and for me it mostly held up. Didn’t get into the middle part, felt so weird they were in a time crunch but lots of time passing for Chanticleer to make a major movie deal with Goldie. I know I know, movie logic.

But besides that it still flowed well for its 70 minute runtime, and quite a good voice cast too. I know she’s young, but disappointed the kid didn’t recognize the voice of Baloo as Patou 🙁
