Don’t be fooled by this movie’s apparent simplicity.

Telling a classical Indian tale (and a break-up story) through a thousand ideas at once, 5 different animation styles, and an Annette Hanshaw jukebox musical… This is one of the most creative movies I’ve ever had the pleasure of seeing.

An unrepeatable feat, and a must-see for any fans of bizarro, unique movies.

EDIT: damn it, i just found out the director is also a massive TERF. Oh well 🙃

It’s a self-serving vanity project that nonetheless makes incredible use of its limited animated, has a great sense of humor, and I can only imagine must have been an overwhelmingly cathartic experience for Nina Paley.
