yeah this definitely made me feel a little bit disappointed tbh - i kinda wanted more substance - and not like 90 minutes of pure torture..
i kinda wanted to like this more - due to my love for the exploitation genre of horror, and i love watching independent horror movies with over the top performances, and grotesque imagery but unfortunately this film just kinda.. bores me? i love things deemed as ‘taboo’ and things with disturbed premises but beside nazi torture - there’s nothing much else really here to particularly enjoy. this is like probably my first ‘naziplotation’ film - a subgenre i just look more into just due to my interest in world war 2 - so atleast it had that going for it? an SS commandment ‘isla’ conducts sickening, sexually driven torture methods on her female prisoners, and this movie nicely captures the sadism within concentration camps so again something i did enjoy out of this (not enjoy, but like i guess am infatuated by? i really don’t know the word) it’s certainly different, and my fascination for grindhouse classics makes me atleast respect it’s influence due to its extreme, shocking content. this has a nice surreal quality about it and the lead actress atleast makes a funny, intentionally absurd portrayal to atleast lighten the mood - kinda? this film 100% has a misogyny problem, and it’s not historically accurate - like at all. it’s fine. like i wouldn’t watch it again but i guess i’m glad i watched it?
