I struggled to even finish this.
While I usually don't mind dark cinema, this felt like gratuitous violence disguised as provocation.

i don’t understand rlly understand why movies like this are made. i mean i get its to show what happens in real life to people and what they have to go through but if you’re old enough to watch a movie like this, id assume you’re old enough to understand abuse. i don’t rlly think we need to see explicit movies about it and about 14 yr girls getting raped 3x nd one by her father? grandfather? idek how that family works. what i don’t understand is why the grandma killed him if she was just going to continue the abuse anyways? i hate when people break the 4th wall in tv, its so creepy and they do it a lot in this movie, even creepier here. ik we only saw angeliki for a few moments in the beginning but holy fuck did i miss her throughout the movie, i get waaay too attached to characters. this is the first movie in idek in how long where i didn’t miss a little moment of the movie bc i was on my phone, mainly bc it was all subtitles but im impressed with myself😭

this film embodies the cruelty of familial abuse but offers nothing of substance in return. the audience is meant to withstand this cycle of violence for what? a predictable, inconsequential payoff? absolutely empty film that’s more interested in showcasing the victim’s suffering than offering any commentary of value

if you want to watch a genuinely good film about this subject matter save yourself the time and watch Dogtooth instead
