genuinely good example of religious horror in the first half, the choir scene in the jazebo was so horrifying in how still it was ... the harsh cold lighting is also such an interesting choice, i hardly ever see that used in films anymore and the almost industrial feel to even scenes that are supposed to be tender represent the fakeness of it all. the oddly antiwoke sentiment at some point was weird but i can look past it mostly because it seems unintentional. also the guys remind me of buzzfeed hipsters from 2013 which makes sense but made it difficult to watch at some points. the jonestown imagery towards the end feels both too obvious and fairly distasteful to some extent, which is disappointing because of how strong of a start the film had. the entire scene and honestly end of the film feels drawn out and repetitive and relies on the shock factor of them drinking the koolaid, when really it could have been half as long and still got the same point across with a lot less dramatic acting. unfortunately "the last sacrament" reveal in reference to the title goes so hard so i will give it that
