“women suffered most. no matter how young or old, they all could not escape the fate of being raped. we sent out coal trucks to the city streets and villages to seize a lot of women. and then each of them was allocated to fifteen to twenty soldiers for sexual intercourse and abuse. after raping we would also kill them.”
fucking putrid. im a firm believer that the dropping of atomic bombs on both Hiroshima and Nagasaki is the greatest act of mercy in human history. in all honesty, they deserved far worse.
watching films like this and Masaki Kobayashi’s ‘Tokyo Trial’ conjure such intense anger and hatred within me. the fact that many of the heinous creatures who perpetrated these atrocities got off scot-free is absolutely appalling. Ishii, Hirohito, and the whole lot of them deserved the same treatment as the victims of Nanjing, Manchuria, Southeast Asia, etc. absolutely fucking despicable, sickening, and infuriating. japan largely underplaying or even denying some of these events makes it that much worse. the older and more educated i become, the more i realize japan is a cultural and historical hellhole.
