This was actually great a young Matt Damon and Penélope Cruz in a Mexican western romance, I enjoyed this story quite a bit.

Starts really strong and a ton of the dialogue is pretty much verbatim from the book but I don’t think this is really a novel that’s able to be adapted for mass audiences. Needs to be in the hands of a director who takes more liberties. 

Did not like the Rawlins casting, loved Damon as John Grady.

Matt Damon loved mexicanly and it broke his heart

Never seen a more tampered movie, the transitions of scenes felt like a video game fade away cut scene, the topic of anything in this movie was aimless, I had no idea what was gonna happen and was shocked that anything related to each other at all. Random old man dancing as Damon delivers a heartfelt call like okay wtf is that about? He got moves but it felt weird to do. 
You would think this movie was a government investigation paper the way it was messed with. That’s the only explanation as to why this movie is the way it is, that someone didn’t like something and kept shaving off chunks until nothing left. 
Shocked to hear “I can’t quit you” in the movie though like woah!
