Jackie is back as Sgt Dragon Ma and this time he is fighting police corruption in the form of crooked Inspector Chun (David Lam), pirates (again) and Imperial agents trying to apprehend Chinese Revolutionary hotties Maggie Cheung and Rosamund Kwan.

Project A Part II is inexplicably included on the 1001 list ahead of the original. This is a good film, and the finale is a true spectacle, but the overall package of first film wins out. The one-two-three punch of Chan with Sammo Hung and Yuen Biao is definitely missed here.

But despite being less Hung (heh) than it's predecessor, Project A Part II does boast the adorable Maggie Cheung and the aforementioned final act is a masterclass of stunt work and flying fists. From a scaffold hurricanrana to a mouthful of peppers that would rival an episode of Hot Ones, this is breathtaking Jackie at his fast and funny peak.

if this were just a liiiiiittle tighter i would probably say it’s up there with dragons forever and police story. to me, that first big fight of the movie in the restaurant when they go to arrest the gangsters is one of the best action scenes in all of Jackie’s catalogue (and, therefore, one of the best ever). some of the scrappiest and most frantic improvisational fighting you’ll find anywhere and it’s looooong. so good 

some incredible physical comedy in this even for Jackie. the handcuffed together chase and everyone hiding from each other in the apartment are genius. great final fight and I love the pepper power up buff he gives himself for like 30 seconds.
