Bollywood in a bottle. It’s interesting that the movie barely moves past the note it establishes the central romance with until the last 15 minutes - moved purely by the strength of its images.
Muuna and Kamal work as two worlds for Mili to move between and the film manages to feel grounded to that while still exploding in beautiful Bollywood imagery. Filled with latent desire (maybe the strongest cinematic image of all), the film probably missteps when the camera explicitly lusts over Mili, but who am I to blame anything for being down bad.
Just so well realised.
