This shit is genuinely worst than the fanfics I was writing on Wattpad back in my middle school, no joke.
No but seriously, I decided to watch it because I wanted to watch a dumb shitty movie, but this is even worse than that??? Can we actually talk about how harming this movie is? The main character, Anastasia is 21 years old, with GPA of 4.0, and yet she's infantilized so much, and don't get me wrong, I understand being shy but that's not it. The girl can't speak and stutters in every sentence she says. Another thing is that I understand you can have little to know knowledge when it comes to sex, but not knowing what butt plugs are? It literally says it in the name of it????? On top of that, she's just so flicking dumb, can't catch on context, like when Christian was for the first time talking to her about the 'pleasure room', maybe he wasn't straight-forward, but you really have to be fucking stupid not to catch on to what he means.
The characters in their own are so fucking blant, and I know that they tried to give Christian for example a backstory and traumatic childhood to explain his behavior but it didn't do shit, and one thing that really bothers me is his relationship with Mrs.Robinson or whatever the fuck her name was, although Anastasia acknowledged that she's a child abuser (and a pedo) it was only mentioned twice and was made to be the reason for his '50 shades' which I just think is problematic as fuck, I get that it's literal soft-corn movie but if you tackle a topic like this I believe it would be worth to actually acknowledge it further.
I get falling in love quickly and all of that bullshit but Jesus fucking Christ girl.
This entire movie was just existing, the conversation just looked so awful, acting was non-existent, the movie didn't even look pretty, the only scene which was someone nice for eyes was the one when they had a meeting to discuss the contract, the orange lightning was actually pretty. And as for the script? I'm pretty sure 90% of it was Anastasia bites her lip.
Not only Gray is 50 shades of fucked up, but so is this movie. And I know that some of the things that I pointed out might be explained or just acknowledged in the other two parts of this movie, but honestly?I couldn't care for that and I definitely won't willingly ever watch any of this shit again, cause this literally felt worse than the punishment that Anastasia experience, I think for her next punishment Gray should have her sit and watch this movie without looking away.
