I could never understand how anybody could hate and fear someone just because of their way of loving. A person is still a person no matter who they love. God teaches us to foster love, but religion says that only give love to those who follow it. Your ignorance makes a difference in someone, it makes things worse. I have been with a girl and a boy but when it comes to me loving a guy most of my family always throws the bible directly at my face to shame me, and get rid of who I really am, but I control who I am and I will love who I love, I always have thoughts like Bobby, but I guess I'm lucky I did not give in into my horrible thoughts. If your religion teaches you to hate someone for who they are, then who you worship is not a kind and loving God.
This movie has a really good story, I mean my throat hurts, but what the fuck was that cinematography. This just goes to show, that you can stretch the soul of someone so many times, but there will come a time that it will break, Bobby faced humiliation, felt unwanted, always felt like he was out of place, but when he saw David, someone who he loves and made him feel seen, do something so horrible, it made him finally break. It was the fault of David, it was the fault of his family, but it was mostly the fault of our society. Society should foster community, a community that does not judge and dismiss others for who they are. Love is everywhere, and not just in what your book tells you. I am someone who loves someone who they love, and you should not fear letting your true self be known, instead fear the regret you'll face in the future. Regrets feels heavier when you realize it could've been avoided.
