Woah this was incredible
This film was enchanting and really lured me in from the beginning. I really enjoyed how suspenseful it was! The sets, the costumes, and the acting were all breathtaking in my opinion, and the movie really left me speechless. The mannerisms all of the characters have are so over the top, and dramatic, it was so perfect and really helped tell the story. I have so many thoughts about this movie, and I can’t put them into words, I love when movies make me feel that way!
Unfortunately, the blackface and the antisemitic tropes were very gross, it’s a shame that this was so normalized back then, because this really is a beautiful film. But you can’t ignore the racism.
Overall, I really enjoyed this movie and found it very interesting! It was so theatrical!
