Von Ryan's Express
So refreshing to finally watch a good one!! This was not anything like Star Wars but it gave off such a Star Wars vibe and I don't know why. A fun adventure movie!! Would recommend!

Von Ryan's Express
A fine entertaining ww2 escape movie, there are movies that do a lot of what this movie does better but it is entertaining and the performances of Trevor Howard and Sergio Fantoni are great and worth the watch, while Sinatra is fine but that’s about it. There are a few moments that are engaging and memorable but as a whole it is a fine entertaining film.

Von Ryan's Express
1965 | James Brolin

I did not exactly know what to expect from “Von Ryan’s Express”, other than a World War II POW film, so I was surprised that they left the prison very early on. Ultimately, the film plays as a mix of “The Great Escape” and “The Train”, while not being as great as either one.

It’s less violent, less political and is much more concerned with being an escapist action adventure. And I think it succeeds at that. The cast is fun and there are several great sequences including a tense and captivating finale that got me more than I expected.

It’s just a good old time and I think I really have a thing for these old war flicks, although this isn’t one of the best by a wide margin. Still, good entertainment.
