The atmosphere and emotional tone manage to shine through however though the script is blatantly adapted by the author and feels at more times like a novel than a film in tone

Obligatory comment on the soundtrack’s strength 

The film’s themes and topics were interesting and fresh but the writing and acting are quite poor in areas - if a bigger studio and producer had taken over this could have been a classic on the level of This is England and Green Street where they obviously took inspiration from
