❝Well, you know what, Neil, you can't go along with someone who's going nowhere.❞

I decided to give this film a watch since I love Cillian Murphy and Lucy Liu, and it was very endearing.
From the get-go there was a lot of humour and quirky charm, especially coming from Neil. The plot was nice, although to be honest, nothing special. After Violet made an appearance I felt that the humour became a little cringey, but not unbearable to watch. Cillian and Lucy had a lot of chemistry, and there were some adorable scenes. The pace of the film slowed down considerably, and in my opinion dragged a lot up until just before the end. I really liked the soundtrack, though, and Violet's wardrobe and hair were gorgeous.
All in all, Watching the Detectives was a fun rom-com that was perfect for switching the mind off while watching; it's not the best film in the world but it is certainly likeable.
