“It's hell gettin' older. Especially when you feel 21 inside. All the strengths that sustain you all through your life just vanish one by one. And you study your face in the mirror, and you... you notice something's missing. And then you realize it's your future.”
Maybe not the greatest Woody Allen film to start off with, but I wanted to watch something in honor of the start of September (in my opinion the start of the best part of the year, the -ber months). Although it has Woody Allen’s usual stacked cast, the story is a bit bland and felt like a Hallmark film. Mia Farrow is really the only saving grace of this film. Dianne Wiest gives an underwhelming performance that maybe could’ve been better with a different actress, but her character was also written very poorly, so it’s not all her fault. It’s not a terrible film and like I said, Mia Farrow is great in this, but the overall story was a bit lackluster.
Soundtrack: 8.3/10
