In 2010 “Skinwalker Ranch” gained media attention after experiencing a wide range of unexplained phenomena. Reports ranged from UFO sightings to livestock mutilation, but maybe most notable was the disappearance of ranch owner Hoyt Miller’s eight-year-old son Cody on November 11, 2010. Close to a year later, Modern Defense Enterprises has sent a team of experts to document and investigate the mysterious occurrences, which only escalate upon their arrival. Tensions rise as the team must decide how far they will go to unlock the mysteries of “Skinwalker Ranch.” The group debates whether the answers are worth risking their lives for, or if they should just call off the investigation and leave the ranch—that is, if leaving is actually an option…

2013 | Found Footage | Aliens visiting Earth

“Skinwalker Ranch” had been on my radar for years now and while I always had a mild interest in it, I repeatedly decided not to watch it despite having the possibility to. Well, maybe I should’ve kept it that way.

It’s “Paranormal Activity” only with UFOs and aliens and in shitty. The characters are absolutely bland and have zero personality, the camera is bad even for found footage standards and I cant stress enough how much I dislike it when found footage films make excessive use of image disturbances and this one’s got a lot of that.

It’s wildly generic and utterly uninteresting, despite throwing so much crazy shit in. And then it just ends?!? It’s not only a not that good watch, but also incredibly unsatisfying in the worst way possible. And yet it still left me cold cause there’s absolutely nothing special about it.

Given, I didn’t have a terrible time and didn’t hate this, but this just isn’t it.
