I don't really understand how this made it into the Criterion collection and Clerks didn't.
But I do think it's very telling in summing up how the overall film comes across that Kevin Smith genuinely wrote the single most sincere and mature bit of dialogue he's ever done as a monologue for himself and then followed it up with having his protagonist take that as inspiration to propose one of the most ludicrous ideas imaginable to fix his (very self inflicted) situation.
Basically, it's heart is in the right place, but it just ain't as deeply profound as Smith probably thinks it is.

finally had the time to watch this, but hooolyyy, i didn’t know kevin smith could get all 6ft deep with his movies, the dialogue’s were everything it just hits you so good and made you think really long, i need a minute to process all of this.

free sex education. And honestly? Is there any guys like holden and bob nowadays? I don’t think so. Bob blatantly saying his inexperience and admitting that he just can’t get to his women level, and then there’s holden doing the wrong practice and eventually lost both, his gf and bsf(/bf). It’s all just so weird and i think there’s not much movies like this anymore, just bluntly putting out sex stuff especially three ways like that but yeah it IS a 90s movies but anyways sidetracked, i like this movie, kevin smith got a solid grip on his directing since mallrats and it’s obviously amazing to see that journey since i thought mallrats was like a movie made by a film student which imo still rlly enjoyable.

why jason lee so twink build in this movie? not complaining.

i love jay and silent bob and everyone else is so stupid and obnoxious, this movie is a giant dissappointment compared to clerks and mallrats but it was kinda fun at times if you ignore the main plot
