Compared to the other silent films I’ve watched, this one has definitely stepped up its game in terms of expressions. The film relies heavily on the body gestures and over-the-top emotions. I’d say the practical effects were great, but the thrill: not so much as it was predictable. Still a really enjoyable watch!

Unfortunately, this didn't do much for me. The craftsmanship is impressive, but the characters and narrative are entirely uninteresting. In comparison to Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin, I get the sense that Harold Lloyd lacks some sauce. I adore the works of Keaton and Chaplin, whereas Safety Last! left me feeling relatively unmoved. Perhaps I should familiarize myself with more of Lloyd's works, but for now, I don't have much of a desire to do so.
