Newly appointed sheriff Pat Garrett is pleased when his old friend Doc Holliday arrives in Lincoln, New Mexico on the stage. Doc is trailing his stolen horse, and it is discovered in the possession of Billy the Kid. In a surprising turnaround, Billy and Doc become friends. This causes the friendship between Doc and Pat to cool. The odd relationship between Doc and Billy grows stranger when Doc hides Billy at his girl Rio's place after Billy is shot.

The Outlaw
I recently watched The Aviator (Scorsese, 2004) and was curious to see what a Howard Hughes film would be like and I should have stayed curious.

As Westerns go, it’s terrible.
As melodramas go, it’s terrible.
As films go, it’s terrible.

The direction and editing especially was muddled, the score was a mess and Russell’s “character” Rio was essentially just a walking, talking pair of boobs.

It was interesting in seeing Hugh’s eccentric directing style and the film’s fight against the Hays Code but overall it was very tedious, cliched watch.
