Started off a bit slow but got into it once all the characters are established and the melodrama began. The unwanted pregnancy is telegraphed pretty early on seeing as how religiously conservative Irish culture was back then but teens will be teens!
Overall I enjoyed this HBO movie, but it was no matter how Irish his last name sounds, it was hard to buy Chris O'Donnell's accent! Sorry Robin. And it was annoying how much Minnie Driver's character's weight was a plot point in the story. Enough with the fat-shaming and maybe have more people realize how creepy Alan Cumming's character is because that was plain as day.
Curious how many people liked that ending? I would have prefered their reunion be more ambiguous and bittersweet - felt rushed - but I get why audiences would have hated that.
