This doesn't feel real. Not nessicarily in a bad way but it's quite something. Unfortunately the characters kind of sucked, with more interesting parts it could of been a lot better. There just wasn't anyone to connect with and too many just annoyed me. Obviously Peter Lorre is always great but his part is pretty small. The script was quite literally being made alongside filming and you can tell.

The parallels to the Maltese Falcon are interesting. I only thought about it briefly while watching but it was interesting to read about after viewing.
