It's so odd that when I was younger I absolutely loved the way Speed Racer was stylized and managed to love this movie when it released for the same reason. Now I'm older and rewatching it and come to notice that the Wachowski's played a part in producing this film and it makes so much more sense now.
I assume they enjoyed working with Rain during Speed Racer and played a part in landing him this role. I will say this, the acting throughout the entire movie is pretty mediocre but it's still a FUN movie. It really scratches the itch when it comes to the action and gore it has and is one of the reasons I thought ninjas were so badass and that's thanks to Raizo! These stylized movies play a big part in the movies I find enjoyment in now a days cause you can get a lot more from a film when the visuals hit just as much as the story (which they do not unfortunately in this film). Giving it the like regardless of the rating cause this is a personal cult classic for me<3
