it’s a lot of fun when star virgin is running around being a badass superhero and fighting cool monsters but that’s all i really got out of it

i think we can all agree that the high effort camp of weirdly fetishistic independent japanese action cinema is perfect. its so over the top and exuberant that even as a non japanese speaker you can get the gist of 90% of whats happening from every third word and the vibes alone. love eiko's image and how sick she is; despite the skimpy costume she doesnt lose any sense of power or coolness, and despite her power she doesnt lose any sense of femininity, which we love to see. also the monster designs are so fun omg the stupid ass frog in the opening is just so epic and the they/themfail robot butler was so cute. ALSO also, as with most of these sorts of films ive seen, i loved the amateur but enthusiastic action scenes- eiko really did slay.
