The final film in preparation for Maggie Gyllenhaal’s The Bride, James Whale’s The Bride of Frankenstein is one of, if not the greatest Universal Monsters film of all time. While it is a crime that we only get 3 minutes of Elsa Lancaster as The Bride, she absolutely slays it. Boris Karloff returns with his iconic look, and is great as always. Some say this is better than the original, I think I have a bias towards the original since it’s been a cozy watch for me for years. But this film is still great from start to finish.
