you can really feel varda’s constant inspiration and need to create in this era of her career. instead of seeing LA art through the mainstream hollywood perspective, varda chooses murals as her subject matter and highlights the artists that go unspoken but make the city what it is. i can’t believe she filmed an asco exhibition and caught that many people just casually on roller skates. the 80s man!

I loved the way Varda approaches the subjects of her interest with such honest curiosity, respect, and care. You can tell how much she loved the public art in Los Angeles and how much she admired the artists who created them. Long live art and the artists who create it.
