The scale of the production is super impressive, it reminded me at times of some of the battle and feast scenes in Errol Flynn's Robin Hood. However, this is so boring, and Frank and Cary Grant are both phoning it in. The director Stanley Kramer vowed that he would never work with Frank again after his horrible behavior on the set of Not as A Stranger (showing up late and refusing to do more than one take), but he gave him another chance in this one. Frank not only gave a shit performance (sorry but it is), he also was so agitated at having to stay in one place for 16 weeks that he ended up just leaving in week 13, which is incredibly selfish when you think about the money and time spent on this huge production - the extras alone! Literally thousands of people. I'm starting to miss pre-Oscar Frank.
