Don’t let the Patron icon next to my username fool you! I’m always down for a raunchy, low brow flick, but something about this just wasn’t for me. I love Rob Zombie, I love 90s animation similar to what this pays homage to (such as Ren and Stimpy), and I love horror, but it didn’t click I guess??
To list the pros off first, it was fairly entertaining throughout. Something was ALWAYS happening that made it hard to not watch lol. Whether it was violence, nudity, blink and you miss it type gags, it was chalked full of stuff! The little songs in between scenes also got a couple of chuckles out of me too— very meta and self aware. And the entire killing nazis plot point is always great! I don’t care how good or bad your movie is, you’re at least getting a star if you kill nazis lol.
The cons however are honestly a lot harder to pin down. For starters, the “plot” feels so loose that it’s hard to invest in. Doesn’t feel like a movie, but more like a weird mix of a TV special and something you’d find on a NSFW subreddit page. Some of the humor that the plot relies on also is just outright not funny and very of its time unfortunately. Like I dunno what was in the air, but what was up with the mass Asian jokes in the early 2000s lol?! So while this may not sound too terrible, I promise these complaints hold a lot more wait when you watch because they’re so consistent throughout.
Probably will never rewatch unless I’m under some sort of substance and with friends. But other than those circumstances… probably not worth a rewatch. Glad I got to see it though nonetheless!
