The sad and tragic life of Ms. Lady Day can be heard all throughout her songs. Diana gave a FANTASTIC performance, and the film itself isn't completely horrible, however it does a piss poor job at accurately depicting the gloomy reality Billie faced . Is it just me, or did Louis McKay seem to be portrayed as a hero in some way? Since Billie was 16 years old, McKay took advantage of her and ultimately pushed her towards her downfall. Reading her story has always made me very very uneasy, which this film failed to do.
