August 1995: Mikiya first meets Shiki in a white kimono during a snowing day. Later on, at the high school freshmen ceremony, Mikiya sees Shiki in the crowd and chases after her, introducing himself to her. But Shiki hides a big secret: A wave of bizarre murders occur around many loose ends, and no suspects. there are still many questions: Who to believe? Who is the murderer? What is the secret of Shiki? and especially: Who is SHIKI?

personally i enjoyed this more than the first one. it continues the dark and melancholic theme and has the same atmosphere, but makes it feel more relatable and grounded; since it’s in a small little town. the overall story in this one was definitely better and i really liked the romantic aspect as well as the introduction to shiki’s split personalities. it also answered a little of my questions, and overall i’m excited to see where the story/series ends up going next.

Beautiful music like the first and this one actually made more sense compared to the first entry. Great themes of identity and the human condition and Shiki is such a great character.

Garden of sinners rewatch in chronological order 1/10
I liked this quite a bit more then the first time I watched it.
It mixes all the elements of a good crime/mystery and school slice of life/romance pretty well. I also think Shiki‘s condition is explained very good and you can understand both personalities and their motivations.
The animation and atmosphere are also really great and I forgot how much I loved the soundtrack of this.
Overall a great start to probably my most anticipated rewatch of a series.

Talmente corti da dover condensare il tutto in pochi minuti, tanto che la storia complessa dei romanzi di Nasu qui viene semplificata con qualche dialogo, e ciò purtroppo si vede fin troppo.
C'è però il solito elemento horror genuinamente spaventoso e ansiogeno, che lentamente cinstruisce una tensione palpabile ma che viene poi fatta esplodere nella scena tra il canneto.
Non il migliore della serie ma quanto gasa.
