One of those films in which the protagonist is the film itself: through the way it is gradually shown and revealed, from apparent successes to difficulties, the viewer remains involved in Max’s life the whole time; this character who, being the direct or indirect cause of all his own problems, instead of growing or changing thanks to the opportunities life gives him, accepts his own nature and pays the consequences.

Extremly underrated crime film. Grounded and Haunting pretty much everyone in this movie brings it. Hoffman plays a character who tried going straight, but his Gary Busey and M. Emmett Walsh completely screw that up for him and basically make him go back to a life crime. One which he is very mediocre at as we see in the Jewel Store robbery where he refuses to obey the set time limit to bolster the score which leads to 3 deaths. Like I said very underrated.
