Seven years have passed after the battle of Teppelin... Humans have since reclaimed the surface of the earth and enjoy an unprecedented period of peace and prosperity. However, humanity's increasing population growth triggers the sudden emergence of an unknown, powerful enemy. This is what Gurren Lagann is all about, this is one of the most incredible movies I have ever had the pleasure of watching, it takes all the setup from the first movie and pays off better than should be realistically possible, one of the most beautiful endings and I am incredibly grateful this was made

Gurren Lagann the Movie: The Lights in the Sky Are Stars

The second film brought it all together for an epic conclusion. Big space jam of intergalactic spaceships, moon mechs, explosions, combo movies and more explosions! Story was a little chaotic and didn’t care for the digital animation aspects of space. Still great fun though!

Had blast catching the Gurren Lagann double header with some of the crew at Hollywood as part of Animayhem PDX’s Mecha Panic series.

The second film brought it all together for an epic conclusion. Big space jam of intergalactic spaceships, moon mechs, explosions, combo movies and more explosions! Story was a little chaotic and didn’t care for the digital animation aspects of space. Still great fun though!

I watched gurren lagann back in 2017 and it’s never left me, I watched it again just before this movies and it reminds me why it has never left me, the anime is amazing but this is movie specifically exemplifies everything that this series is, the belief in the human spirit in us and ourselves, I’m still willing to bet that in another 7 years and another 7 years after that and so on until my grave, this will still reach my soul in what damn near no other anime could
