Probably the worst Hitchcock I've seen. My god is it boring. There's an attempt to make you care with the use of real world events but that doesn't make any of the characters interesting. It also somehow gets worse and worse as the film goes on, a great example of a films runtime being dragged out for whatever reason. I just wanted it to end. Definitely does not feel anything like a Hitchcock movie.
Honestly the more I think about this the worse it feels. The characters have so little enthusiasm about the events of the film. They act like theres no stakes, when the stakes are nuclear warfare. Additionally the male lead being an adulterer was so unnecessary and just made him unlikeable and bland. Somehow both his relationship with his wife and his relationship with his mistress had no chemistry.
