How did I not know about this movie early ?? Good question Lucas. I really don't know. If you know me, then you should know I'm quite a big fan of Nic Cage. Great actor with a VERY interesting filmography. And while I've seen many and know about many more, this is not one I really was familiar with untill just a few days ago when I stumbled across it. A CHRISTMAS movie with NIC CAGE !?!? I mean come on. This is so my thing. Anyway finally found it and watched it yippie.
So the movie, similar to the one I watched yesterday is a comedy about a heist. (I guess I'm watching Christmas crime atm) however the tone of this movie compared to the one yesterday is way goofier. It didn't really appeal to me. I had a hard time properly getting into the movie as I just didn't really like the characters nor the comedy. However once the movie got going with it's story I got back into it. Christmas crime is always fun (heist movies in general are enjoyable to me) and I liked some of the situations this movie put the characters in. The story is actually quite decent, even if it becomes quite predictable at a point and just kinda progresses as everyone think it will. But hey, it's a Christmas movie and Christmas is all about tradition so I can excuse predictability.
My biggest problem (maybe aside from the comedy I largely didn't jive with) was that this movie just feels too long. Even though I enjoyed the story when it got going and enjoyed where it went, the movie feels far too long and I got bored. I don't mind a predictsble story, but if you're gonna do nothing new at least do it quick. So yeah, not super exciting. However it was still pretty fun and a decent Christmas movie. Obviously Nic Cage was great too

why is dana's character name alvin. and why is he always chuckling. i WILL say his voice and name and all that fits him though because he REALLY looks like he came out of whoville in this movie...
also for some reason i seem to be watching lots of weird movies recently ??? ANOTHER movie with a really odd cop car chase
here's my favorite quotes by dana because he carried this yes im biased

It’s a Nic Cage Christmas movie. That pretty much sums it up. Otherwise, it’s just another childish flick with a cheesy “moral” at the end.
