❝These dark clouds are proud of taking your life. They don't know that you're the Sun; today, you may've gone down, but some day you'll come back, piercing the darkness to claim your love.❞

Magadheera is one of the best Rajamouli films, and a childhood favourite.
Only Rajamouli could come up with such a fantastic story. It has everything you would want from a film: comedy, romance, action, a little thrill and a great soundtrack. There's never a boring moment. I love the action sequences, especially the chariot race with Bhairava and Ranadev and the 100 soldiers fight. The CGI is a little janky, but it's to be expected from an early 2000s film, and it's offset by the otherwise beautiful visuals.
Ram Charan is perfectly cast for the role of Bhaitava/Harsha, and he is genuinely brilliant at using little mannerisms and expressions to portray feelings without dialogue. Kajal Aggarwal isn't my favourite actress as she can overact, but she was really good as Mithra/Indu, especially during the comedic scenes. Dev Gill's Ranadev/Raghuveer was terrifying to me as a child, and he remains a formidable antagonist who's so easy to hate.
All in all, I absolutely love Magadheera and I would definitely recommend it to people who want to watch more from Indian cinema or want to check out more of Rajamouli's work before RRR and Baahubali.
