Honestly it’s not doing anything special but I was entertained. Dan Stevens & Maika Monroe were a great casting, soundtrack is the highlight of course but what I think works best is Adam Wingard’s risk of trying to have cheese in his films. I’m not a fan of half of his films for that but I’m a fan of the other half for having it, gotta take a risk I guess.

Would love a sequel in whatever form, I find David as a character interesting and I’d like to see him expanded upon in some way.

been meaning to watch this for a while because of the suspense and the kinda good things i’ve heard about it, but yeah… it was just alright.

i really liked the boy in this though. he was quite good, and the dynamic between him and david was probably the best part of the movie for me. that actually felt interesting and had something going on. but besides that, it was painfully obvious what was happening the whole time. and it didn’t feel like the movie was even trying to be smart about it. it wasn’t subtle, it wasn’t layered, it just kind of laid everything out there and went with it. and usually i’m fine with simple, sometimes simple is actually better, but here it just felt bland.

overall, just okay. nothing bad, just nothing that really stood out either.

I expected this to be bad and that's honestly what I wanted right now. I just wanted to watch a bad movie for some reason, I was tired from watching something amazing, then analyzing it and stuff. And this was actually a great pick. This is definitely bad. The first half of the movie was actually pretty good and even promising in a way and it was just fun. It wasn't great, but it was pretty fun to watch and it wasn't really bad. Yeah but the last 30 minutes genuinely deserve half a star. That was one of the worst things I've seen and I'd create a better ending. So yeah it was interesting to see where the plot was going, while also enjoy watching it all. But when the whole plot actually did start to progress it all just went downhill. But it was fun I guess, especially the start
