A Grim and gritty wannabe taken, with too few redeeming characters or plot lines to give the revenge arc any narrative satisfaction. The biggest mystery isn’t who unalived Cage’s daughter but more so just what accent Peter Stomarre is attempting here.

A very strange entry in the Cage direct to video era, it has a lot of the hallmarks of the action drama but by the end devolves into a gun safety advertisement. Peter Stormare and Danny Glover show up in only half awake roles and Cage has several outbursts but is otherwise docile.
Strangely, this came out a few months before John Wick but shares a similar plot, shows how much skillful direction and good dialogue matter. If you had asked me ten minutes in I would’ve guessed this capitalized off the retired bad guy coming back because he was dragged back in but goes to show.
