I didn’t even know about the Grace Kelly Oscar controversy, in fact as of this moment I haven’t seen that version of a Star is Born, but it seems pretty obvious to me that her performance shouldn’t have won. It was fine but nothing amazing which is the same I can say for William Holden whom I typically appreciate more than the average person, but here he was nothing impressive. The only one who I thought was stellar was Crosby in this role. Beyond that the story was fine though seemed one dimensional and mostly predictable, and to an extent nonsensical twist near the end.
