In 1950, a group of unlikely criminal masterminds commits the robbery of the century. Led by Tony Pino, a petty thief fresh out of prison, and Joe McGinnis, who specializes in planning lucrative capers, the gang robs Brink's main office in Boston of more than $2 million. However, things begin to go awry when the FBI gets involved, the cops start cracking down on the gang and McGinnis refuses to hand over the loot...

My thoughts on this film couldn't have been described better than by Friedkin himself: "It has some nice moments, despite thinly drawn characters, but it left no footprint. There's little intensity or suspense and the humour is an acquired taste. The film doesn't shout, it doesn't sing - it barely whispers."

A proper movie from a proper filmmaker. This movie was a lot of fun, very different from Friedkins hits but this movie has some amazing stuff. Peter Falk is such a good lead. Not sure if this was a hit but it deserves to be talked about. It’s a perfect heist film with so much charm and not afraid to take itself serious at times.

This is a story about the crime of the century. The year is 1950, 7 small time thieves did the impossible, robbing the Brink's company of nearly two million dollars and they seemed to have almost gotten away with it, until days before the statute of limitations were about to be up, when one of them revealed it all to the cops. This was a great film that featured a wonderful cast of actors paired with the great director William Friedkin

Almost 75 years ago today, 11 guys pulled off one of the biggest heists of the 20th Century, these guys proved that even Brinks themselves are prone to robberies, no matter how secure they say they are. Peter Falk starred as Tony Pino, the mastermind of the heist, which might be my favorite role of his ever, plus I love his Boston accent in this film, it's hilarious.
