today, we live in a day and age where there have been more trans stories told then ever. we have laverne cox, janet mock, carmen carrera, caitlyn jenner, and many more beautiful people. trans people's stories are finally being heard in a cisgender heteronormative media. and it's so great to see.
but, i feel like a storyline like 52 tuesdays hasn't been told a whole lot. 52 tuesdays, a story about a young girl name billie who meets with her mom, who is transitioning into a man, every tuesday for a year. in cinema, there are many LGBTQ+ movies that tell all kinds of stories, but not of many of a trans man. the only movie that came to mind was boys don't cry (if there are any others, please feel free to recommend some!).
ok, that's about it. back to the movie. yes, 52 tuesdays. i really loved this film. yes, there were some flaws, but i think that's what made me love it even more. the performances by these actors, who mostly are amateurs, give stellar performances. del-herbert jane was the stand-out, for me, in this film. but overall, a heartwarming movie about family and what happens inside of a family. strongly recommend to everyone.
