Judy Holliday certainly deserved an Oscar for her hilarious and nuanced portrayal of Billie Dawn. Did she deserve the one she actually got, though? That’ll be hotly debated until the end of time but I will say that the supposed controversy drew my attention to this charming little movie and you know what? I’m glad I saw it.
