A stripped-down account of a young man's existential reckoning. "As dust hides a mirror, lust hides the self," reads one of the film's Vedanta-sourced intertitles. And indeed, while the Pierre Clementi protagonist's inner life remains obscure, the Saint-Germain-des-Pres neighborhood that offers his temptations appears in harrowing detail.

‘i show you two paths> the path that leads back to birth > the path of no return’my new favorite hidden gem. It is an existential, melancholic, and psychosexual work that has dark reflections on death and symbolism, making it probably the most French thing in the world. ‘The fire within’ meets ‘The mother and the whore’, and ‘Je, tu, il, elle‘ sometimes. and the small role played by Juliet Berto has already captured my heart.
the visual images conveyed the main character's anxiety and lack of understanding of himself and his own desires, which was very appealing to me. this film accurately portrays the feelings of a person with depression. the constant need to alter something, despite the psychological impossibility of doing so. being trapped in your own emptiness and dissatisfied with yourself. the aspiration to rise above, advance spiritually, and quit self-destruction, but without making an effort due to the lack of moral strength. a somber narrative about perpetual moral stagnation that results in a lack of trust in one's own potential and the worth of one's existence.

Мне нравился, было прикольно, пока Пьер не съехал под крышу и не начался possession. И финал слишком фарсированно-счастливый.
