In a dramatization of her life, Linda Eastman, takes a job snapping pictures for Rolling Stone Magazine, despite the objections of her straight-laced father, Lee Eastman. As Linda rubs elbows with music royalty, she bumps into rock star Paul McCartney, and they soon fall in love. Although not only her father but also Paul's band mates disapprove of the romance, Linda and Paul wed while relations between the Beatles begin to disintegrate.

Linda was so much more than her death and her children with Paul, I wish we got to see more of her photography and relationships with other bands before Paul and much much more of her time in Wings. They brushed over Jane Asher way too quickly but considering this is “the Linda McCartney Story” that is probably excusable lol. Many important moments felt rushed, but then again considering they only had 90 mins the amount they fit in was substantial. Props to them for actually taking the time to recreate some of her photos with the actors, that was sick as hell and I’m sure must have been a blast for all involved.
John and Yoko drove me a bit nuts, I felt like they portrayed Yoko as essentially evil, stealing John from Paul and John as insane, skittish, and helpless from defending himself. The scared look he gave Yoko in New York during Linda and Paul’s visit on Christmas is more than telling of what the director and author of the original book the film was based on thought of their relationship. Even if this movie wasn’t meant to focus on them I would have liked to see them portrayed with more dignity and accuracy. Justice for Yoko and John.
It was almost more of a Paul biopic than a Linda one and considering it’s literally called the Linda McCartney Story I don’t love that lol. But all this being said the way they portrayed Linda and Paul’s relationship was genuinely touching and beautiful, you could really see how much he loved her and how much she loved him back. Almost cried when Paul said he never got the chance to say goodbye to those he loved when they died, but got to bid Linda goodbye like he hadn’t ever before. Gary Bakewell, I loved you as Paul in Backbeat and you did not disappoint, wonderful job.
Should this be the definitive film about Linda’s life: No. Did it focus too much on her domestic life with Paul rather than her own photography, activism, and time as keyboardist for Wings: Yes. Was it more of a movie about Paul’s relationship with her rather than Linda herself: Also yes. Does that make this a bad movie: Probably. But for all its faults and for as bad of a Linda biopic as it was I did genuinely enjoy the movie. It didn’t do what it was trying to do, but what it ended up doing I thought it did well. Even if it didn’t focus enough on her the story was compelling and I actually teared up several times lmao. Do I wish there was a better movie about this amazing and iconic woman: Of course, but that is not to say you cannot enjoy this film for what it is.

The film is boring at times. However, the chemistry between the two lead actors really sells them is Paul McCartney and Linda McCartney respectively. However, the cast of choices of the other Beatles of rubbish. John Lennon looks like a 45-year-old man. George and Ringo get absolutely sidelined for no reason there was no attempt to rally show the Beatles, even though it was a massive part of the early relationship between Linda and Paul, but other than that I still think the film goes on for a bit too long ago and it keeps changing the timelines as well, and it really annoyed me at some point.
